Candidate nominations open September 1 for Vancouver Election

August 26 2026 - Nominations for Mayor, City Councillors, Park Board Commissioners, and School Trustees in the 2026 Vancouver Election open on September 1.

Council adds plebiscite question to Vancouver Election Ballot

August 14 2026 - At a special Council meeting, Council directed staff to add a non-binding plebiscite question to the ballot for the 2026 Vancouver Election.

Election Office to open as City expands voting access

July 17 2026 - The Election Office opens July 20, offering voter registration, election information, and candidate nomination services.

West Broadway is temporarily closed to vehicle traffic between Cambie St and Alberta St because of construction. 

  • Accessible reserved parking is available on Alberta St, north of West 8th Ave.
  • Limited reserved parking is available on West 8th Ave, east of Alberta St.
  • Bus routes have been detoured to West 8th Ave between Cambie St and Alberta St.
